About Home Church

HouseGod has used Home Churches throughout history to reach the lost, disciple new believers, experience community, and give freedom for believers to use their spiritual gifts. More recently, thousands of home churches have also sprung up throughout our nation. They are an expression of the kingdom of God in our day.

We are seeing a mass exodus of people from the churches as we have known them – contemporary and traditional, fundamentalist and liberal, large and small.

I want to start a new Home Church

I have talked with quite a few people over this last year as we’ve processed different parts of this journey. Some of those people are currently involved in a big church somewhere, some are involved in an alternative faith-based community of believers, some are involved in a family faith-focused pod, some are involved with the media or other institutions, and others just aren’t involved anymore at all.

Many have said, “This makes sense. This articulates the journey I’ve been taking, but I didn’t know what to do. How do I become a part of it?” There are several ways to do it.
